Corten retaining walls need good drainage behind them
Use M10 stainless steel bolts when attaching brackets to treated timber retaining wall posts
Shear strength of 5.5mm stainless steel TEK screw 3.05KN (311 kgs) for each TEK screw securing panel to stainless steel bracket
Use M10 masonry anchors when attaching brackets to concrete walls
Safe working tensile load with 40mm embedment of 3.5KN (356 kgs) per anchor
Use M10 stainless steel coach screws when attaching brackets to treated timber rails
10mm screw allowable withdrawal force in 17mm plywood of 0.3KN (30.5 kgs per screw) or 0.018KN per mm of plywood

For retaining walls, use stainless steel M10 bolts, which are stronger than coach screws

Each stainless steel bracket is bolted to the timber posts, using 2 off M8 stainless steel bolts.
BRANZ warns against using zinc coated fasteners in wet treated timbers, as the timber preservative chemically reacts with the zinc.
For retaining walls over 600mm tall the brackets should be no further apart than 300mm vertically
The corten panels are secured to the stainless brackets using stainless steel TEK screws 5.5 x 25
